Story of Fill The Gap (FTG) Project
Fill the Gap raises money to provide housing and utility deposits for Montgomery County residents who are homeless or on the verge of becoming homeless. In this way, Fill the Gap ends homelessness for some and prevents it for others.
It is estimated that more than 3500 adults and children are homeless in our county. Nine hundred eighty-five children in our schools were unable to list a permanent address. Many programs will pay rent and other expenses, but very few can pay deposits. This leaves a gap in services that can become a barrier to establishing a stable residence.
